These Are A Few Of Our Favorite Things

Our favorite things for the RV

  • Book: The New American Dream

We are so excited for this author and her book. She chose us to be featured in it and we could not have been happier to help! It was such a fun interview and exciting to receive our copy of the finished product. Enjoyable for anyone who wants to know more about this new lifestyle and the community we are all building within it. Check it out, buy it and support the author and our amazing community!

  • Instant Pot LUX60 6-in-1 Multi-Use Programmable Pressure Cooker, 6 Quart | Stainless Steel

The Instant Pot is an absolute MUST for everyone, not just the RV’er! If you haven’t heard of this thing… what rock have you been hiding under and don’t wait any longer to get on this bandwagon! You can do amazing things with this piece and eliminate more than just your crock pot, helping to make more space in your home on wheels! Also, far less pots and pans to clean – THAT is ALWAYS a bonus!

  • Copper Chef 9.5″ Square Fry Pan

Two words – Copper. Chef. Any of the standard size and shaped pans are a blessing to your kitchen! This thing is outstanding! It also eliminates the use of prepping it before cooking. No oil or butter needed AT ALL with this beast. Just turn on the heat and start cooking – and don’t even get me started on the clean up, it’s a breeze! Food will literally glide right out off of it and you won’t need to use nearly as much soap, water or even your precious time to clean it. James and I are still amazed with it every single time we use it. Also, we only have ONE! From the very first time we used it, we knew we struck gold and we purged every other pot and pan we had – THIS. IS. IT!!!

  • Scott Rapid-Dissolving Bath Tissue, Toilet Paper, 4 Rolls, Pack of 12

Okay, it had to be addressed… toilet paper! If you haven’t heard yet, you absolutely cannot use your normal toilet paper in an RV unless you want some serious black tank issues and we’ve heard those get costly. You must use RV specific TP. We highly recommend Scott’s brand. Not only does it offer their rapid dissolving magic that is necessary for your black tank, it is double ply and the softest one we’ve found – we order it by the case! Of course, it’s also a lot cheaper that way and smarter when you’re traveling full time like we are. Even a four pack at WalMart is a rip off.

  • 10 Pack – SimpleHouseware 3 Compartment Food Grade Meal Prep Storage Container Boxes (36 ounces)

These are just plain smart. Meal prep is always a good idea! We love cooking a ton of different foods before we head out to another boondocking spot or are wrapping up our time at an RV park of some sort. These are great to have everything sorted and ready to go, and they provide great organization – which is key when you’re playing tetris in almost any fridge you find in an RV.

  • GCI Outdoor FirePit Rocker, Mercury Gray

Don’t be fooled, these aren’t any regular outdoor chairs, these are outdoor rocking chairs! Equipped with shocks in the back to provide you with stability and smoothness for rocking while the base footing underneath the rocker stays put on the ground. They have three options to choose from for whichever environment you want to rock away in. They are easy to fold up and tote around too!

  • Best Choice Products Zero Gravity Canopy Sunshade Lounge Chair Cup Holder Patio Outdoor Garden Tan

If you’re looking for something a little more relaxing and you want the option to put your feet up, the zero gravity chair is the way to go. This one in particular is a personal favorite because it has both a sunshade AND a side table to hold drinks, phones, etc. Perfect for all settings. You can use it as a regular chair or easily lay back and stretch out like a lounger for a little nap or just to take in a great sunset in pure comfort. Another plus, this one comes in an assortment of colors and the price is great too!

  • GCI Outdoor Compact Camp 20 Table, Black Chrome

Outdoor tables are a must when you’re camping and for the perfect smaller sized table, this is a winner. It’s perfect to use as an “end table” next to your chair or between two to hold drinks, dinner plates, candles, s’more ingredients, and more. It’s also great to use when grilling, if you have a smaller table top grill this works perfectly! It’s solid and stable and easily collapsible and it’s not cheap plastic that will weather and break easily.

  • Lifefactory 11-Ounce BPA-Free Indoor/Outdoor Wine Glass with Protective Silicone Sleeve, Multicolor, Set of 4

For those who want to enjoy a glass of wine in something other than a solo cup, tervis or yeti – this is the glass for you. Great for both indoor and outdoor use, it has a silicone cover around it for protection and you have the option of ordering them in one universal color or mix and match with fun colors so you and your party guests don’t get your drinks mixed up. I love this glass and I know quite a few RV’ers that swear by them as well. Worth every penny and they look great by campfire light. ;p

  • WineMeUp Silicone Wine Glasses – Best Stemless Unbreakable Cups – Set of 2

If you want something a little more simple looking for your drinks or you just want to stay away from glass altogether, this is another great option and all silicone. Great price for a two piece set as well!

  • Kikkerland Rhino Tall Folding Step Stool, Black

Okay, no matter what anyone says – or how tall they might be… this is a must have item. James is tall and I’m taller than the average woman, but there have been plenty of times where I have had to ask him for help because I simply couldn’t reach, no matter how much I strain to try. Our kitchen pantry, and most RV pantries for that matter, go back pretty deep and not all RV pantries are equipped with those magical shelves that slide out for easy access (but even those go high up to the ceiling) – my point is, this stool is just right. Any other I’ve found are half the height and although that may work for some spots, this is a sure thing. I would rather have this for anything I can’t reach on foot and not NEED to step that high, than have purchased a stool that doesn’t help me reach all the heights and depths I need to get to. PLUS, my favorite part – it’s collapsible and I love that.

  • Whitmor Drying Rack, Rust-Resistant

Drying racks are a must, especially for us because when we do laundry – we do A LOT at once and there’s plenty of items that simply cannot go in the dryer (basically all of James’ clothing) so we needed a drying rack to help us with that because there are only so many places in the RV we can hang clothes to dry. This piece in particular is great because it’s rust resistant and that’s important for more reasons than one. It can be used indoors and outdoors, but we mainly use it indoors because most RV campgrounds have strict rules on NOT hanging any sort of laundry outside of your RV, and who really wants to see that anyway?

  • Cacala Pestemal Turkish Bath Towel 37×70 Pure Cotton Hard Coal

One challenge we had that we never expected when we moved into our RV and hit the road was our towels. I thought that when I downsized from our large towel collection, that I had picked the best ones and the most absorbent. I was wrong, it’s completely different when you’re in an RV and we found that our regular house towels weren’t drying fast and therefor smelling like wet towels frequently, which meant we went through our towels a lot faster, thus causing even more laundry for us. These turkish towels are a GAME CHANGER! Not only are they far less bulky than any house towel we still had, they dry faster than we’ve ever experienced with any other towel and we are really happy with them. They come in a variety of colors to choose from and we personally chose a couple different color options so we always know which towel belongs to whom. The price isn’t that bad either, I mean it can be a bit more costly than a standard house towel, but I cannot express enough how great of an investment these are. Give them a try and we are confident you will not want to go back. Did I mention how they are less bulky?! Hahaha, it’s seriously a huge bonus when you find something that takes up less space than another option.

  • CGear Sand-Free Multimat (Blue/Lime, 10 x 10-Feet)

Outdoor mats/carpets are a great addition for your space no matter your location and this one is a winner. This comes in one or two other colors and it’s guaranteed that if any sand or dirt gets trekked onto it, it will fall through to the bottom and stay there and any sand or dirt underneath it will stay right there where it belongs, making the tear down and packing up process a breeze in this department. How can you go with any other option?! It’s great for your patio area with your RV and even better than towels on the beach. Go grab one, they are worth the price and let’s be honest, I’ve seen plenty of RV’ers go with other outdoor rug options that can’t offer even half of what this one does.

  • Lingstar 4PCS Non-Stick Gas Range Protectors Reusable Aluminum Foil Gas Stove Burner Cover Protector Liner Clean Mat Pad

Keeping our gas stove top clean from cooking was something we had to find a solution for early on. These are great! Granted we have a three burner stove top, so we can’t cover the entire surface, but at least we get to cover and protect what’s really used and they are reusable! Really a great way to keep things looking nice and cleaning friendly AND reusable is always a plus in our book.

  • 45PACK Aluminum Foil Square Gas Burner Bibs Range Protectors Disposable Liner Covers Stove Guard Easy Clean – Silver (8.5″ Square) from Spare

If you are looking for something a quick and easy toss away version for your stove top, these are our go to pieces. Almost as effective and you don’t have to worry about cleaning it when it gets dirty from cooking spills, just pull, toss and replace!

  • Camco 58031 “Little Red Campfire” Portable Propane Camp Fire

When you’re in a spot where a real campfire isn’t always possible or you just want something that’s quick and easy to do the job, this is your new best friend! It’s amazing and that’s all we can really say here. It’s handy and convenient and easier to use than the set up and tear down of the real thing. You simply won’t regret it!

  • GCI Outdoor Slim Fold Cook Station

We don’t always have an ideal work station for outdoor cooking where we set up camp, to be honest, we boondock so much that leaves little chance to have something to use. Not anymore. This is an ultimate cook station! You can set your small ground or table top grill on top of this bad boy and have all the other pieces to hold everything you could possibly need for the ultimate cooking and dining experience to have everything readily available for everyone, especially the chef. It’s impressively collapsible too – WIN!

  • (2pcs) WindyNation 100W 100 Watt 12V Bendable Flexible Solar Panel Battery Charger w/ Power Sunpower Cells for RV, Boat, Cabin, Off-Grid
Solar Panels! We honestly waited far too long to get these – we should have purchased them first thing, but we didn’t know any better. We also didn’t know we would be doing nearly as much boondocking as we are!
So after months of researching and asking friends we’ve met on the road, we decided to go with these.
We really like the flexibility, but we especially love that they don’t weigh very much – that’s a huge plus in our book!

  • XCSOURCE® Intelligent 30A PWM Solar Panel Charge Controller 12V24V Battery Regulator LD296
We chose this controller to go with our solar panels.

  • TCP Global Set of 4 Canvas Wheel Tire Covers for RV Auto Truck Car Camper Trailer Fits 27.5″ to 31″ Diameter
Tire Covers are a must! Whether you hit the open roads full time, keep it in storage for parts of the year or just keep it stationary, these are a no brainer – Just make sure you find the right size for your tires!

  • Raniaco 12V DC 150PSI Portable Electric Auto Air Compressor Pump and Car Tire Inflator
One of those gadgets that one should always have with their vehicle, plain and simple.

  • Wasabi Power Battery (2-Pack) and Dual Charger for GoPro HERO4 and GoPro AHDBT-401, AHBBP-401
Let’s get real, camera and video equipment really adds up. So for our GoPro’s we needed more batteries than what we started with on this fun journey and we went with these for a fraction of the cost. We love a good deal, especially when the quality is on point.
